The short version fits in one line: your unloads are never saved to our servers.
Your unloads are never saved to our servers. The text you pour out is sent to our AI provider to be sorted, returned to you, and forgotten. We do not store it, log it, or read it. Your record of what you've let go, and your record of what turned out okay, lives only on your own device.
There is no Google Analytics on this site. No Facebook pixel. No advertising tag, no session recorder, no heatmap, no third-party script watching what you do. We do not know how many pages you visited, how long you stayed, or where you came from.
This is a deliberate cost to us. It means we cannot see where people give up, which is normally how a product gets better. We accept that, and ask instead: there is a small "Did this help?" note at the end of a session, and it only ever sends what you choose to type into it.
Email (optional): if you send us a note through the feedback box, or write to us directly, your email reaches us through our email provider (Resend) and is used only to read and reply to what you sent. We do not add you to any list, and there is nothing to unsubscribe from.
Payments: handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, on behalf of I Love Yu LLC. Your card details never reach us. Your receipt and statement will show I Love Yu LLC.
Device activations: every plan opens on up to three devices, and Lemon Squeezy keeps the count so that we don't have to. When you enter your key, your device sends that key and a random device nickname to be checked. The nickname is something like lets-unload-k3f9x2, generated on your device, and it means nothing to anyone. What comes back is a yes or a no. We hold no list of who is on what device. The nickname is not your name, your email, or anything about you, and it is never connected to a single word you have written. You can see and release your own devices any time from your customer portal.
Transient AI processing: your text is processed in the moment by Anthropic's API to perform the sorting and a safety check. No identity is attached, nothing is retained by us, and it is not used to train models.
Feedback you choose to send: if you answer the "Did this help?" note, we receive exactly what you typed into it: your answer, your message, and your email address if you chose to give one. It never includes your unloads. It is sent only when you press the button. Leave the email blank and we have no way of knowing who you are.
We keep this list short on purpose, and we name them plainly:
Our hosting provider serves the pages and runs the sorting function. Anthropic provides the AI that sorts your text, in the moment, and discards it. Lemon Squeezy handles payment, plans, license keys, and the three-device count as merchant of record. Resend delivers the message if you write to us, and holds your email address only for as long as it takes to carry that note. Each one holds only the narrow slice described here. None of them ever receives your unloads or your record of what you let go.
To keep you safe, the app scans what you write for signs of a mental-health crisis before sorting, so it can show supportive resources (988 in the US; findahelpline.com internationally). This check happens in the moment and is never stored.
Your record of what you've let go, your counters and self-trust number, your parked items, the gentle "how did it turn out?" check-ins, your license key, and the random device nickname used to claim one of your three slots are all stored in your browser's local storage, on your device. Clearing your browser data deletes them; we cannot recover them, because we never had them.
Let's Unload is made for adults and is not directed at children. Subscribing requires being 18 (see our Terms), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, or under 16 where that is the local threshold. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to us and we will delete it straight away.
Your unloads: not at all. They are never saved in the first place. Your email address: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them. Feedback you sent: until it is no longer useful, and sooner if you ask.
We are a United States company, and our providers process data in the United States. If you use Let's Unload from elsewhere, the small amount of information described above is handled in the US under standard contractual protections.
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and the CCPA/CPRA in California, you have rights to access, correct, delete, and receive a copy of the personal information a company holds about you, and to object to its processing.
Here is the unusual part: for almost everything, there is nothing for us to hand over or delete, because it never reached us. What you wrote is on your device and under your control. Where we do hold something, such as your email address, a payment record, or feedback you sent, email hello@letsunload.com and we will act on it free of charge, within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK and think we've handled something badly, you may also complain to your national data protection authority, though we'd rather you told us first, so we can fix it.
For the small amount we do handle, our legal bases under the GDPR are simple: performing our contract with you (running the service you paid for), your consent (the email address you chose to give), and our legitimate interest and legal obligations (keeping payment records, and keeping the service secure). We have never sold or shared personal information, and we never will. We do not use it for profiling or automated decision-making. We set no tracking cookies, only functional on-device storage.
Let's Unload is a self-organization and relaxation tool from I Love Yu LLC. It is not medical care, therapy, or crisis support. If you're struggling, please reach a professional or a crisis line in your country.
